I remember paying less than that for UMK3 on Sega Saturn for Best Buy. Still got it too. Damn those Saturn cases weren't put together very well though :*(

Why that game is cheaper on the Saturn than on Genesis or SNES is beyond me.......

That Toy Story GB game was awful, I remember that I got it over Donkey Kong Land, BAD choice...

I have Pac Man Adventure 2, Animaniacs and Tiny Toons on SNES. Love PA2 though. N64 games were indeed expensive. I wonder how much PS1 games were going.

EDIT: NVM, I see it. Saturn and PS1 games were closely priced I see.

I remember my dad buying an N64 for my brother and I.
For some reason, my mom wasn't too happy about it.

Makes me miss my n64, I sold it when the Wii came out cause I foolishly believed Nintendo would release all my favorite games on the virtual console.

I'm kicking myself for it now cause I am dying to play some Bomberman 64 and Snowboard kids... >_>

Cheaper to make a CD than a cartridge. Also, UMK3 was also probably a 32 or 64 Mbit cart, which probably drove up the cost a bit too.

I just bought two more N64 controllers for $15 a piece. Those are a rip off. :P

Seeing a $60 game right next to a $60 console is pretty funny as well.

Oh how I miss those days!

PS. What holiday was this promotion for?

*checked the original GAF thread* Wow, now I'm seeing even more why sticking with carts was a bad idea, those manufacturing costs must have been ridiculous if cart games at the time were about $60 and $70! (yeah I didn't start to pay close attention to game prices until the Gamecube and PS2 days) That joke in Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection about how Phantasy Star IV was almost $100 a cart while this big collection of Genesis games was only $30 for one disc just hit me harder.

Still, certainly nostalgia to be had here. I didn't actually get an N64 until Christmas 1997, but still. I remember my first games were Super Mario 64, Star Fox 64, and I think Wave Race 64 as well.

Ah, Good times. I'm gonna go back. I just need a tin can to kick around. *Wonders if anybody will get that reference.*

*Sniffle*What nostalgia. The TRU in my area still has 90s Jeffrey on the 25 cent machines.

Omg I remebered I always used to buy the Sunday's paper back in those days and I would read all ads on video games stuff for toysrus, best buy, sears, etc. Good times.

@Eternal Rain Pokemon Stadium and Hey you Pikachu where worse. They cost $125 & $80.

Seeing some of those prices now as an adult.....wow.

I say this was probably the only time where I would prefer being a handheld gamer more than being a console one.

Even though I'm probably the youngest on here, and grew up with the GameCube more...I still remember shelling out an arm and leg for Mario Party 3. It was worth it! Still have it somewhere damn $88 dollar cart with tax...
