Is it wrong that I don't think the speed of the karts in most Mario Kart games is above the speed limit? I mean, from Double Dash's speedometer, it's about 70 mph with a Mushroom Boost and around 50 mph at normal top speed. Fast for a go kart, not so much for normal traffic.

No yeah, you're right. If this guy is going to try to make a joke about a video game, which he does ("try" being the keyword here) he should at least make them actually work.

70mph is faster than any speed limit near where I live. Highest I remember seeing is 65.

Who is to say that speed limits are even the same in the Mushroom Kingdom, though? Most actual cars in stages where they exist drive at half your speed.
