GoNintendo 'End of Day' thought - Is your Wii U feeling lonely?

Oh Friday, how I love you. You bring in the glorious weekend, which we all work hard for. I can't wait to be an old man and nap your free hours away! Just one more day to push through. See you in a few, short hours!

I don't know how it happened. I have no idea why it happened. I honestly cannot believe that it happened. Somehow, Nintendo managed to follow up the 3DS' launch issues with yet another hardware debacle. I love Nintendo a great deal, but I think even the biggest fans recognize that the Wii U launch and early months on the market haven't been the best for the Big N.

Nintendo said time and time again that they learned from their 3DS launch mistakes. I believed them, because I figured no one would want to go through that situation again. I figured the Wii U would launch strong, there would be a bit of a lull and then things would be running smoothly from early 2013 into the holiday season. Launch month sales were indeed good, but things have fallen sharply since then.

I'm not saying the Wii U isn't going to recover. Nintendo turned things around with the 3DS when no one thought they could. I'm sure they can do the same with the Wii U. I just don't know why they are going through this all over again. That's not the point, though. I'm here to talk about those of you that have picked up a Wii U. I want to know what you're doing with the system now.

Truth be told, I figured we would have already been playing The Wonderful 101 and Pikmin 3 by now. I also thought there'd be some other gap-fillers on the market, but that's not the case. Titles we all thought would be available for purchase by now are still weeks, if not months away. It's been slow-going for Nintendo fans when it comes to the Wii U.

I was wondering what you guys have been doing with your Wii U. Are you playing games and enjoying the system just fine? Do you find yourself looking for gaming content that is still far off from launching? Are you using the multimedia features of the Wii U to keep busy? I'm not feeling the sting too much, since I'm tangled up with the Rayman Origins Challenges App and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. Those two can be huge time drains, so my Wii U is seeing a lot of love. Still, I do recognize that the overall picture isn't a pretty one right now.

Leave us a comment and let us know what you're using your Wii U for, or if it's laying dormant for the time being.
