Intelligent Systems talks Fire Emblem; Awakening design choices, why SMTXFE is a new game and not DLC

GN Version 4.0
Concerning Fire Emblem: Awakening

- Nintendo said that 80% of players should be able to finish the game, but 20% might have trouble
- this is why they included the casual mode
- you can finish the game without using the "Pair up" system.
- game is exactly the same in Japanese and Western versions
- they were aiming to attract Fire Emblem purists, but also newcomers

The team was also asked why they didn't offer up Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem as DLC for Awakening. Intelligent Systems said it's very important to make sure your DLC stays true to the original game, so adding in SMT wouldn't make any sense. The crossover title is a new experience that warrants the creation of a new game. Thanks to J22 for the heads up!
