We have seen the press release concerning totals sales for the Wii and DS in Europe, now we have some information that breaks down how things went in Germany. In 2005, the DS sold through 500,000 units in Germany, but this year it doubled that figure, selling 1 million units. This allows Nintendo to hold 80% of the portable market in Germany. The top two software titles are Brain Age and Animal Crossing. This may directly relate to handheld ownership, with Nintendo stating that over 44% of German DS owners are female.
