“At the end of [2011], the digital business is bigger than the packaged goods business, full stop. No questions in my mind. Then, you know, I think that we’ll find ways to even sell our packaged goods content in chunks and in pieces and subscriptions and micro-transactions.” - EA boss John Riccitiello

That’s a bold prediction, but it might be one that comes true in EA’s circumstances. The company has been pushing the digital side of their business very hard, and they could end up seeing more money squeezed out of that sector than traditional retail.
