REPORT - Nintendo 3DS is region locked
Here’s a question that we’ve all been wondering about for some time now. While I’m not 100% confirmed that this is the case, we’re now hearing that a page on Nintendo’s Japanese site has confirmed that the 3DS will be region locked. That means you’ll only be able to play games from the same region that your 3DS is from. If you plan on importing, know that you’ll never be able to play anything other than Japanese 3DS games, until some sort of hack comes along. Thanks to Chris for the heads up!
