Iwata won't comment on NGP...because of Apple

Remember when Satoru Iwata made a comment about the iPad when it was first announced? It seems that Iwata’s statement was mistranslated. He originally had no negative/positive connotation to his comment about the iPad, but translations lead people to believe that Iwata was badmouthing the device. Looks like Iwata learned from that unfortunate situation.

“I didn’t say it (iPad comment) with any positive and negative connotation. So then it became a story about how I trashed the iPad as just a bigger iPod Touch. I read these remarks online and the situation had become almost surreal. So my view now is that it’s not good to even give my first impression.”

Seems like the best line of action here. We don’t want Sony and Nintendo in another flame war!
