More talk of Activision killing off Guitar Hero, DJ Hero hit as well
We’re now hearing specific talk that there were major layoffs at Vicarious Visions, the developer behind Guitar Hero on Wii and DS. On top of that, it sounds like bad news for the entire brand. Check out this tweet from BioWare developer Manveer Heir…
“Ugh sorry to hear about the Vicarious Visions layoffs today after Guitar Hero canceled. Shitty. Sounds like Freestyle (DJ Hero) got hit too.”
Eurogamer has contacted Vicarious Visions, which created the Wii version of Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, for comment.
Going off of the DJ Hero talk, we’re also hearing that developer Freestyle Games has been hit hard by layoffs as well.
