Media-Create discusses the lower first-week sales of Ace Attorney Investigations 2 over the original

GN Version 3.1

With Ace Attorney Investigations 2 selling 132,000 units in its first week, we can see that the game is a success. Compare that number to the 172,000 units that the original Ace Attorney Investigations did on its first week, and you can see reason for concern. Media-Create has put together some ideas on why the sales were lower this time around, as well as discussion of how Capcom can change this trend.

- had less TV commercials than its predecessor
- lower level of recognition amongst consumers as compared to the original Ace Attorney Investigations
- male interest in the game has dropped
- interest from women has increased
- marketing was targeted more at women
- market the series with a focus on its characters in the feature, rather than its “deduction” aspect
