Team Ninja open for more collaborations, doesn't aim to make Western games, but instead, interesting games

The following comments come from Team Ninja head Yosuke Hayashi…

“A lot of Japanese developers have been focusing on developing games designed to appeal to Western audiences, but most of them have failed. It’s a situation we understand but, for Team Ninja, we never intentionally make games for the Western market. We merely try to make interesting games. However, we don’t want to be grounded as an exclusively Japanese developer. We are open for any collaboration, but it would depend very much on who the partner was. We’d need any partner to be enthusiastic about working with us. We wouldn’t want to work with a partner company just because they were famous.”

I’m not exactly chomping at the bit for Team Ninja to get back with Nintendo for more Metroid action, but I would like to see what the company can do on their own. I wish them well in the future, and Dead or Alive: Dimensions may end up finding a place in my 3DS collection before I know it.
