Rovio comments on Reggie's remarks concerning App Store pricing

GN Version 3.1

Remember when Reggie said that Angry Birds was underpriced, but most of the content on the App Store is quite overpriced? He also said that most of the games are disposable. Well, Rovio’s Peter Vesterbacka had something to say about that.

“That’s a very important part of the whole App Store model. You create a console game, you charge 50 or 60 dollars, and you forget about it. 99 cents is the price we have in the App Store, and you just have to make up for that with volume. I could throw up a website and never update it, but how popular would that be? Not very.”

I’m not too sure that I agree with what Mr. Vesterbacka had to say, but I do see where he’s coming from. Now, if we couldn’t only get Reggie and this guy to work together!
