Heavy Rain creator says it's time to forget what makes gaming good

“We need to forget about video game rules — bosses, missions, game over, etcetera … are very old words of a very old language.” - David Cage

Wow, talk about losing a lot of respect for someone in just a matter of minutes. I really liked Heavy Rain and I think Mr. Cage and his team pulled off something special. With that said, I think his statement above is absolutely ignorant. While I liked Heavy Rain, I wouldn’t want every game to be like it. I love bosses, missions, game over screens and other ‘old language’ gaming designs. Not every game needs them, but to have them disappear would take away a part of what gaming is.
