Nintendo investor meeting - unconfirmed info (3DS eShop, Vitality Sensor and more)

GN Version 3.1

The following information hasn’t been 100% confirmed just yet, but hopefully that’ll change soon.

- talk of Vitality Sensor
- Kid Icarus: Uprising due out after this Summer
- Nintendo would like to add more content to the Virtual Console service for 3DS
- 3D Classics version of Excitebike will be distributed for free at eShop launch (may be Japan only)
- might see more free classic games via eShop as an incentive to use StreetPass and SpotPass and eShop
- Vitality Sensor is easy to use for 80% of people, but they want to get it up to 99%, still in development
- planning first-party releases around third-partie
- Nintendo will ‘accommodate’ social networking
- Nintendo believes buttons are needed for gaming
- plans for E3 unveiling of Wii successor were made due to the logistics of getting everyone to E3
- Nintendo claims to have data showing that social networking services don’t hurt Nintendo DS playtime, and even increase activity in Japan
- active users in Japan went from 51% in July to 48% in January, but in the US it rose from 62% to 63%
- Pokemon Black/White has sold more than previous versions globally in same time frame
- EU/US 3DS second week sales were lower than expectations
- Nintendo says they “need to make efforts” to improve those sales
