We finally get to see some new screens of Dragon Quest IX for the DS, and it’s looking very nice. There has been a big change to the battle system though. While the game was originally an action RPG, Square-Enix has now gone with a turn-based style closely resembling Dragon Quest XIII. The online play is the same way, but it allows you to plan attacks with the other players in your party, or you can make your own move decisions. Finally, you’ll be able to customize the look of your character, including facial expressions.
