Online invitation patent from Nintendo

I keep hearing about this today, and have been receiving emails concerning it as well. The patent relates to an online invitation system that will allow you to invite friends to come and play a game with you. Apparently this invite will still exist even if you turn your system off and on again. As far as I know, Mario Strikers Charged has an invite system in place. If any of our readers would like to further explain it in the comments section, please feel free. If this patent actually means more than what is already implemented, we will have to wait until at least one more online game comes out to see if the infrastructure already exists.
