Ubisoft teases about Red Steel split-screen multiplayer

In Red Steel, you’ll have up to four players [in the multiplayer mode]. If they play together in split screens we can only say that the fight will not be only on screen (grins). - Nicolas Eypert, Creative Director of Red Steel

Now what exactly does this mean? Is he simply making a joke when it comes to multiplayer Red Steel, seeing that 4 people swinging Wiimotes around will get quite hectice, or is he hinting at something much greater altogther?
