Top Pokemon video game players compete for the chance to be named ultimate champion

What: Pokémon’s most talented video game players will gather Saturday, July 19 at the Altman Building in Manhattan to kick off the East Coast Qualifier Tournament for the first-ever Pokémon Video Game Showdown. The event will feature an entire day of head-to-head video game fun as the best regional players battle it out for a chance to play in the Video Game Showdown on August 16 in Orlando, FL.

Prizes will be awarded to the top eight in each age division, including a paid trip for two to Orlando to compete against the 32 most-skilled players from Japan. A total of 64
players will battle for two grand prizes, each of which includes a six-day vacation package for four to New York, Hawaii or Tokyo!

Who: Hundreds of the best Pokémon video game players from all across the country, along with costume character Pikachu. Parents, friends, classmates, and supporters will be on hand to lend their support to more than 200 competitors out to prove they are the best.

When: Saturday, July 19 Media Check-In: 9:30 A.M.

Where: The Altman Building 135 West 18th St. (Between 6th Ave and 7th Ave)
