A fortnight for Australia

The Age offers news on “national, world, business, entertainment, sport and technology from Melbourne’s leading newspaper”, or so they say. Below is an excerpt from an article posted today.

“Nintendo Australia are very confident of a pre-Christmas Wii launch. They promise price and date will be announced within the next fortnight.”

These guys met up with Nintendo to check out the Wii just this past Friday. A fortnight equals 2 weeks, so that would be 2 weeks from the 8th. I think this is just a broad confirmation of Australia hearing their news very soon, most likely from the Nintendo of Europe press event on the 15th. It is great to hear that Nintendo is truly dedicated to getting the Wii out in 2006. It is even better to see that Australia is sitting pretty, instead of having to wait for multiple months (after US launch) to get their hands on the Wii. Thanks to Alkaline for the heads up.
