New Wii homebrew allows for easy entry into piracy

Well, this is going to be one of Nintendo’s biggest nightmares. Hackers have figured out a way to make the Wii play DVD game backups without any sort of hardware modification. Yep, that means that pirates are free to rent/copy/play games that they’ve never purchased, without the need to break the Wii open and tinker with its insides. You can be sure that Nintendo knows about this, and is already working on a way to squash it. Expect a firmware upgrade in a month or so.
