Cooking Mama selling like hotcakes

A portion of a post over at Opposable Thumbs

So I went to a game store, a game store that apparently got two copies and sold out. The next one said they barely had enough to cover preorders. The third one had a copy, but an employee had checked it out. That’s right, a rare game hit, an employee was trying it so it wasn’t available for sale. Somehow I don’t think that copy will be sold as being used, either

It seems that Majesco made a very smart move picking up Cooking Mama for publishing in the US. A few weeks back I went to Gamestop to reserve myself a copy, but found out that I wasn’t allowed to. Apparently there is some deal that doesn’t allow $19.99 games to be reserved…who knew!? Since the good people at my local Gamestop care about me so much, they made sure to hide away a copy until I could make it in.

Just in wandering around various video game retailers, I have only seen one copy available, and that was at Target. I don’t doubt that it has been sold since I last saw it. The game is worth every penny, if not more. I have had a hell of a time playing it, seeing that every staffer around me is stealing it to get their fix.

Anyone else manage to snag a copy? I would be interested to hear how hard it was for you to find, and how much you are enjoying it.
