Holy crap…I can’t stop playing World of Goo. That game is way too good. I want to play, but I don’t want to…because I know it will end fairly soon. There should be absolutely zero bitching about the 1,500 price point. It’s worth every last bit of it. If this were on the DS, it would be worth the $30 you would most likely pay. Get over to your Wii, and download this game right now! I’ll be dreaming of it as I’m off to bed. Catch you guys in a few short hours.

I really love cartoons…I always have, and I always will. If I didn’t run a gaming site, I may have very well started a site about cartoons! Lucky for me, today I get to talk about both in one ‘End of day’ thoughts post.

The cut-scenes in Crash Bandicoot: Mind Over Mutant are fantastic. Thus far, they are all animated in one way or another, all using different visual styles. Traditional animation, puppetry (drawn), Jonny Quest-style animation, and more. It’s really great to see the story told this way. As I am playing through, I can’t help but wonder what the next cut-scene is going to look like.

What makes things even better are the voice actors and writing. While the in-game dialog may leave a bit to be desired, the cut-scene content is great. It really has the feel of an old Saturday morning cartoon. Visual gags, cheap jokes, and some jabs that adults will pick up on. There are so many bad cartoons on TV today, it really makes me wish that the team behind the cut-scenes in Mind Over Mutant, from writing to animation, would pitch an idea for a Saturday morning series. Who knows, maybe that’s why Activision Blizzard held onto the Crash license.

Check out the collection of cut-scenes below, and see what you think. Keep in mind…these aren’t gut-busting jokes, but I think the humor is definitely on-par with cartoons that used to grace TV back in the 80s/90s. I’m not ashamed to admit that I chuckled a number of times while watching.
