Capcom/Monumental bringing racing title to Wii?

Earlier today, we posted up the press release concerning Capcom and Monumental teaming up for an unspecified multiplatform project. A quick job search over at Monumental shows an interesting find…a multiplatform racing title that is heading to Wii.

Experienced WII Programmer

This is a pivotal role within our development team. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering and maintaining the Wii SKU on a next generation racing title.

A key aspect of this role is that the Programmer strives to improve their programming skill level and implement ways to push the technical features of the project under direction from their Lead Programmer. The key role will be the design and implementation of a WII rendering engine and asset pipeline.

The Programmer will work on many aspects of console development using existing sub-systems such as networking, rendering, physics and front-end user interface.

Primary Objective

Converting a multi’ SKU AAA racing game to WII on time and on budget.
Responsibilities

* Championing the development of the WII platform internally
* Needs to contribute a high quality of programming on their specific project
* Reporting, keeping the Lead informed of technical progress
* Establishing and implementing control model using the Wii-Remote and Nun-chuck
* Establishing sold art pipeline for WII assets
* Developing WII platform Render

Required Skills

* Very strong C++ with exposure to Design Patterns, STL with solid engineering techniques
* Experience with console development on Wii and or Gamecube specifically in the area of rendering and asset pipelines
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Able to give and receive constructive feedback
* Excellent organisational skills
* Excellent troubleshooting abilities and/or the resourcefulness to obtain solutions
* Remain ‘up-to-date’ on all aspects of cutting edge programming as it relates to the video game industry
* Willing to learn and be open to new ideas. The candidate must be adaptable and be able to pick up new skills quickly
* Video game experience - playing games as well as programming games
* Must have worked on at least one published title.

This is not a confirmation of Capcom/Monumental’s project, but it sure points in that direction.
