Analyst - New GTA in late 2010, Take-Two is a one-hit wonder

“When the next version of GTA comes out in late 2010 (not yet announced, but a reasonable expectation), there should be an installed base of approximately 60 million consoles in the addressable market. We don’t think it is reasonable to estimate that sales of GTA will double the prior version, but we think that a 25-30% penetration is reasonable, suggesting 15-18 million units sold. Take-Two largely remains a one-hit wonder. The company’s one hit, Grand Theft Auto, is relatively predictable and immensely profitable.” - Wedbush Morgan analyst, Michael Pachter

Well, I don’t know about the one-hit wonder statement, but GTA is definitely what Take-Two is most well-known for. They found a franchise that people love, and they continue to pour their heart and souls into it…good for them!
