2D Boy discusses the difference between mainstream and indie devs

Ron Carmel, developer at 2D Boy, had some very interesting things to say when comparing the big-budget, mainstream development houses to those on an indie scale. Mr. Carmel seems to believe that the big guys focus on their ship dates, and what features can be placed into a game before they need to wrap things up. Indies don’t have to worry about those things, and therefore can cram a lot more time/effort/details into a game, worrying about the latest possible time they can ship the game. I wish more big-name devs would take the path of indie development. Games may take longer to ship, but the final experience should be much richer.
