Square-Enix squashes Chrono Trigger fan project

A group of Chrono Trigger fans were working on a ROM-hack project called Chrono Trigger: Crimson Echoes. The project was just days from release when Square-Enix descended on the creators and had them shut down the project. The cease and desist letter called out the fan project for having ripped sprites directly from the DS version of the title, and went on to state that Square-Enix doesn’t allow this sort of thing to happen with any of their intellectual properties.
