UPDATE: It appears there was some miscommunication between devs and PR, as just today the Switch version of Broken Roads has been reconfirmed, but there’s no release date at this time. You can find our original post below.

We originally heard that Broken Roads, a narrative-driven RPG with exploration, strategic turn-based combat and meaningful philosophical choices, was coming to Switch all the way back in 2022. A number of delays and publisher changes pushed the game back considerably on all platforms, but even worse news has come to Switch owners today.

Developer Drop Bear Bytes just shared a release date for Broken Roads today, with the game coming to all platforms but Switch on April 10th, 2024. While we’re used to seeing Switch versions of games come later, a representative for Drop Bear Bytes has confirmed that the Switch version has been flat-out cancelled. (h/t Gematsu)

After waiting over 2 years to get Broken Roads on Switch, it’s incredibly disappointing to have it all end in a cancellation. Even more frustrating is the fact that no reason for the game’s cancellation was given. Looks like if you want to see what Broken Roads is all about, you’ll have to play it elsewhere.
