Nintendo’s Miitomo sees soaring daily use since launch in U.S and major markets

April 5 2016 -- Nintendo’s first smartphone app, Miitomo, has seen soaring average daily use in the U.S and major markets since being launched on March 31, according to digital market intelligence firm SimilarWeb.

On March 31, Miitomo, the company’s first-ever smart device application was launched in the United States and several other countries.

Data from SimilarWeb, based on the average engagement from the launch until 3 April, reveals that Miitomo is already installed on 0.62% of all US Android devices in the U.S with early users spending an average daily time of 36 minutes 28 seconds on the app. In France, the app is installed on 0.13% of Android devices and with an average use time of 22 minutes in the first three days. In Germany it has been installed on 1% of Android devices with average use time of 27 minutes. While, In the UK the app is installed on 0.07% of Android devices with early adopters engaging for 26 minutes daily.

In Japan where the app has had a head start after being released on March 16th, the app is installed on 3% of all Japanese Android devices with users spending over 22 minutes a day on the app, making it the 13th most popular social app in Japan.

Overall, the fastest growing app in the U.S, based on SimilarWeb’s overall monthly data is Clash Royale which jumped 512 places in March, based on SimilarWeb's index of current installs and active user engagement. . In the U.S the app was installed on 2.8% of all Android devices, and now ranks first overall in the U.S Android games category with an average of 35 minutes spent in the app daily. Rounding out the rest of the list of most trending apps to watch in March were services apps: Motorola Modality Services and AppLock Pro – Privacy & Vault, an emoji app: TouchPal – Cute Emoji Keyboard, and two more game apps: Dragon Land and Thumb Drift – Furious Racing.
