Big John Games was having trouble finding a market for their titles. After a string of commercial failures, the company thought they had a path ahead, but those plans ended up falling apart as well.

"In June of last year we were very, very, very close to getting funded as a company, getting a big chunk of money to expand and becoming a real big company. We could have put out four or five titles a year on multiple platforms. That fell through; the people just never fulfilled their promise and that was hard. That's when we had to shrink. We had hit the end of the money bucket. It was really dismal and grim." - CEO and head programmer Ken Patterson

Thankfully, Cube Creator 3D ended up being a big hit in Japan, sitting at the 8th best-selling spot on the 3DS eShop for 6 months straight. The title has sold more than 10 times more in Japan than it did in the states.

"All of a sudden it was, not hallelujah money, or winning the lottery, but it was like, 'OK, a door has opened. We can at least move forward.'"

Now Big John Games is working on Racer Creator, but no specific details were given. On top of that, Big John Games is hoping to develop something for the NX.
