Pokemon GO Made 86% More Revenue Than Any Other Mobile Game in 2016

According to data from Slice Intelligence's panel of 4.4 million online shoppers Pokemon GO drove roughly 86 percent more revenue than any other mobile game in 2016, and that is with it only launching in the second half of the year. Pokemon GO generated the most revenue in the mobile games market with 11 percent of all in-game spending going to Niantic. Candy Crush Saga and Clash Royale rounded up the top three.

Here are a few additional conclusions:

$336 to play Game of War: the average game of war spending player payed $336 dollars in game during 2016.

Pokemon Go had the most revenue, and lowest average spend per player. Pokemon GO paying players spent an average of $32 in-game last year.Which is a very low average spend, suggesting that it was the most mainstream game of the year.

Mostly men: Mobile game buyers in 2016 were predominately male and 70% of spenders were under 50.
