Paris, Tuesday March 7, 2017 – Revered independent developer Aurelien Regard, creator of The Next Penelope, today announced his new project ‘AWAY’, a colorful first person adventure game that combines action and negotiation mixed in a rogue-lite environment! AWAY is scheduled to be published this year by Plug In Digital’s new label, Playdius, on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Switch. To celebrate the announcement of ‘AWAY’, Aurelien Regard released a first-look teaser for the game that captures the essence of Japanese Anime.

“I've been a long-time fan of first person games, but most of the time, you're either facing realistic war or very abstract universes. I've been waiting for a long time to play this type of games in a different, colorful setting, filled with joyful or wacky characters you can interact with. Also, sometimes I really miss the silliness of the 90's anime shows we grew up with in Europe. This is how this project started, and I hope others will enjoy this experience as much as we enjoy creating it!” says Aurelien Regard.

The new intro teaser for ‘AWAY’ showcases the game’s inspired art style while providing a look at some of its oddball characters, foes, and locations that will be encountered on your journey to the unexpected. The teaser also has a snazzy, fast-paced Japanese song by Aya Majiro and Kazuhiko Naruse to listen to that perfectly sets the mood for the game.

‘AWAY’ will also be on the show floor at PAX East 2017 for fans and press to get another look at the first-person rogue-lite adventure. “AWAY: Journey to the Unexpected” is scheduled this year. More info on the release date to come.
