Switch hits over 500k sold in Japan in 4 weeks, quicker than PS4, but not as quick as Wii U
- Switch has sold 519,504 units in its first four weeks in Japan
- PS4 sold 439,810 units in four weeks, and took seven weeks to overtake its first half million units
- Wii U sold 500,000 units in three weeks, moving 557,901 by December 23rd, 2012
The thing to point out here is that the Wii U launched in the holiday season, while Switch launched in March. Goes to show how well the Switch is doing, and potentially, how unimportant the holiday season is for a system launch.
