I said it on the facebook link to this article. We need to initiate Operation Mana Seed and just bombard Square Enix, NOA or whomever we need to with support for localizing this game. Do you all forget what the gaming community did for things like Pandora's Tower and Xenoblade Chronicles?

Yeah ask Square:

*sob* No we will have to ask NoA or XSEED for that one. Otherwise chalk up another Square release never going overseas or going partially overseas (America or Europe, but not both).

And we all know what happens when a company executive says to contact Square Enix.

The messed up thing is that I think this would actually sell better in the west.

They would.

20 characters.

You know you can just hold in the space bar, right...

Yeah I know.
Typing "20 characters" is basically my way of saying "Look, I had to type that in for my message to work ! Now it's definitely more constructive ! Thank god for that stupid rule !"

Without knowing if there will ever be any additions to those titles, I'm more than happy to remain on my original cartridges, European copies of Mystic Quest and Secret of Mana and a Super Famicom copy of the third game. But if they do release it in English, if only for the third game, I'd buy again even without any additions. But I don't see myself importing a Japanese copy if the games are the same as always.

already played it in English...roughly TWENTY YEARS AGO.

we need the new ones thanks.

Seiken Densetsu 3 (Secret of Mana 2) hasn't actually ever been released in English though... did you play a fan-translation?

Yes I like to live on the edge

The new ones are not nearly as good as the old ones.
Except for Legend of Mana which I have to say I was disappointed that it wasn't included.

I loved Sword of Mana, it would have been a great easy addition as well to this bundle.

Yeah Sword of Mana was pretty cool. Some of he criticism was justified, but overall it was still pretty good.
Add this and Legend of Mana and we have a real compilation.

That being said, an official english translation of SD3 alone would sell me the game. It's a bit sad that they don't even really have to try to sell copies of this. It says a lot about how they completely gave up on this series.

They will replace Seiken Densetsu 3 with Secret of Evermore. Calling it now

I love Secret of Evermore but honestly that would just add insult to injury.

It will be like the 90's all over again. Nostalgic!

Haha ^^
Now if they added Secret of Evermore on top of the rest for the west, that would be really neat.

Importing is easy so I'm just gonna import on day one. I just hope they include the english versions of SD1/SD2 like they did with the phantasy star games in the PS2 collection.

I would absolutely buy that day one if it's ever released here in Europe. Even if it's just released in the US actually. I could see them releasing it worldwide just with english subs.

I was part of that for Pandora's Tower, ended up buying all three (you forgot Last Story!) because I thought it was only fair after I pushed for them too! Loved the three games in the end.

A 20 year old game is not worth spamming social media pages and annoying the crap out of people who just want to read normal comments. And NOA would have zero to do with this game, especially since they've never touched the Mana series. The guy behind 8-4 already said he wants to bring SD3 to the west but Squaresoft would have to approve of it, so it's not like we're lacking willing translators.

Squaresoft will more than likely be the same picky company that they were on the Wii U/3DS VC (with many Japan only games despite releasing a lot of the ones that had US releases on the Wii VC) and not bring the game over. That's why I'm importing day one as I'm not going to hold out hope for a possible game release like I did with Time Travelers on 3DS. Wasted many years hoping for that game, only to end up with shit like Yokai Watch instead. :|

It's nice to see that one of the GoNintendo readers has triggered an answer from a game-making-related personality that is deemed newsworthy enough to be referenced back on GoNintendo again!

The same thing happened back in 2014 when I asked Okunari about Sega games on the Wii U VC. That topic blew up and went pretty much everywhere but the GN article got lost when someone destroyed the site and it caused 2014 things to be erased.

Still is nice that the M2/Sega duo are willing to answer questions via twitter, though.

I'll take your word for it- I'm still a relatively-fresh newbie around these Web spaces, haha
