P.J. McNealy of Digital World Research

"I hate to ever paint Nintendo as a 'comeback story'. I think every hardware and software manufacturer has peaks and valleys. But it's clear that they're ascending again in the console space, which is a good thing for everyone. They're not rushing in because they still want to see an installed base. It took developers two holidays before they jumped onboard the Wii. I think it will be sooner in this cycle with the Switch."

Ben Schachter of Macquarie Securities

"It's early, but they have a lot of momentum. All eyes are on them to see if they can make this momentum continue through the holiday."

David Cole with DFC Intelligence

"Price is a pretty big issue, and that's (Xbox One X) coming out at a premium. It's really targeting the people who already bought an an Xbox One or more likely a PS4, and who are ready to have a second system. The issue I think is that overall, that's a fairly small market. And they are competing with the Nintendo Switch as an option of the second system. A lot of people who own the PS4 or Xbox One are going for the Switch because the Xbox One really plays the same games as the PS4."
