Nintendo, Universal and Illumination have already confirmed that a second animated Mario movie is in the works. I mean, everyone pretty much expected that already, as the first film has a teaser at the end that points to further Mushroom Kingdom developments. We also know the movie is coming April 3rd, 2026, but we don’t have any actual details on its story. Unfortunately for us, the film’s biggest star isn’t talking.

GamesRadar recently had the chance to talk with Chris Pratt, the voice of Mario, to try and get some more insight into the second Mario movie. While Pratt was tight-lipped on the Mario follow-up, he did share expectations for Nintendo’s cinematic efforts going forward. According to Pratt, the next decade or so should be chock-full of Nintendo movie mayhem.

“I can’t tell you much but I can say that there is another Mario movie coming. It gets me very excited thinking about the world of Mario and Nintendo in general, I think over the next decade we will be seeing lots of stories coming out of that world. I was thrilled, honored, and blessed to be part of the first one and moving forward I’m open to doing as much and as little as they want from me. I can’t say much but I am just as excited as everyone else.”

Nintendo NY hosts launch events for all of Nintendo’s first-party releases, so it’s no surprise to see them cooking something up for the release of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. That said, Nintendo NY will be bringing in a special guest for the occasion, making things just a bit more exciting.

From 11 AM to 2 PM ET on May 25th, 2024, Nintendo NY is extending an invite to all fans of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door for a special event. It seems like those in attendance can expect some fun papercraft-related activities, but the specifics on just what will be on-hand is yet-to-be revealed.

While it’s great to see Nintendo hosting a special Saturday event for Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, they’ll also have something lined up for the game’s actual launch day, which is May 23rd, 2024. If you’re heading to Nintendo NY on that day, make sure you drop by the store between 9 and 11 AM ET, as none other than Mario himself will be dropping by! What better way to celebrate the arrival of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door than by picking up the game and snagging a photo with Mario?!

All of the content Nintendo created for Super Mario 64 was enjoyed literally decades ago by players. As far as what Nintendo crafted for players to see, interact with and explore, that has been done and dusted for a very long time. Since then, players have been coming up with their own challenges to keep the fun going, and yet another has been completed 27 years later.

Super Mario 64’s Cool, Cool Mountain has a door that Mario comes out of, but he can never turn around and go back in. That door is only ever meant for Mario to exit out of, but that never sat right with players. For nearly 30 years now, some very dedicated fans have been doing all they can to try and send Mario back into that door.

Hackers have long since sent Mario back through that door by using various glitches, clipping tools and more, but the real diehard fans out there wanted a way to get back through that door without using programs and software that exists outside of the game. Now, all these years later, that goal has finally been achieved.

The video above shows how the feat was pulled off, and it uses a ton of in-depth knowledge of how the game works. It may not be the most exciting method or the most fun to employ, but the end result is a victory fans have been looking for for a very long time now. I guess these dedicated players will have to find a new oddity to fixate on now!

To say that the launch of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes has been rocky would be an understatement. While there was all kinds of excitement leading up to launch, the game’s arrival was met with all sorts of complaints from players, and that’s doubly so for the Switch version.

Across the board there have been issues with how the game runs, questions about where some of the content is, confusion over how DLC will be distributed and so on. In order to try and get everyone on the same page, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes developer Rabbit and Bear Studios has released a rather lengthy statement addressing everything and anything fans have been asking about.

The response from the devs starts off with a sizable statement apologizing to fans for the many hiccups, and you can read that in full below.

We are currently receiving reports and suggestions from our valued backers on various matters, but we have not been able to respond to them adequately. We are very sorry about this and sincerely apologize.

This project is being carried out in cooperation with various partners, both domestic and international, and we have been considering and negotiating with them as a top priority, but there have been many unforeseen events, and it has taken us some time to make clear announcements and adjustments.

Rabbit & Bear Studios does not want the situation to continue to the detriment of everyone, so we have decided to report what we can honestly answer at this time as the developer.

We have not yet fully followed up on the situation, and it is possible that the situation may change outside of our control in the future, but we hope to continue to be as transparent as possible in communicating the situation.

[Rabbit & Bear Studios]

The rest of the FAQ goes over plans for DLC, shares updates on physical rewards, talks fixes in the works, and so much more. It’s a laundry list of things to attempt, and there’s no doubt more things will need to be adjusted or pushed back as time rolls on, but at least some sort of plan is in place.

To read the full details of what’s going on and what will be addressed, you can check out the FAQ here.

Kirby is quite the popular character, receiving all sorts of merch in the decades since he burst onto the scene. Plenty of people out there gobble up this merch just like Kirby would an enemy, and now a new item is on the way that fans will no doubt want to add to their collection.

Bandai has revealed their Kirby Pupupu Train figurine collection, and this will be available through capsule/gashapon machines in Japan. The series should start making its way throughout Japan in the third week of May, and customers will have to spend 400 yen a pull to get a random figurine.

The lineup of figurines includes four in all, with two variations on Kirby, plus a Waddle Dee and Waddle Doo. The figurines measure roughly 1.5 inches tall, and as you can see from the image above, they can be connected to one another to appear as if they’re walking in a line. As usual, there’s no word on these releasing outside of Japan.

The amount of NieR:Automata merch is absolutely insane. The game’s popularity has reached around the world to millions, and it’s clear a large portion of those fans are more than willing to part with some more cash in order to pick up NieR:Automata collectibles. That’s why the merch machine keeps churning, and today brings us yet another goodie to grab.

Today brings us the reveal of NieR:Automata 9S “Chubby Collection” figures, which are coming from SEGA. These will be available in Japan sometime in Fall 2024, and it seems they’ll only be available as prizes in various SEGA arcade machines. What exact machines they’ll be stocked in is yet to be revealed.

These aren’t the only Nier:Automata Chubby Collection figures in the works, as a 2B variant was also previously revealed. We don’t have a date for that release, but you’d imagine it will show up alongside 9S at arcade sometime in the Fall. Once we have more specifics on the launch and distribution methods, we’ll be sure to share the info with you.

Some Nintendo fans know that the Big N and Amazon have had trouble getting along in the past. There have been numerous occasions where first-party Nintendo games haven’t been available on Amazon’s storefront, and we never got a clear-cut answer as to why. We recently had reason to believe the two companies were fighting once again as Amazon cancelled a wave of Switch game pre-orders, and today brings us even more proof that the two aren’t getting along.

While you can hop on Amazon right now and purchase Nintendo eShop cards, you can only do it through third party resellers. Amazon used to offer eShop cards directly, but without any warning or explanation, that option has disappeared from their online shop. Again, you can still fulfill your eShop card needs on Amazon, but you have to go with third party options, and obviously some of those aren’t nearly as trustworthy as Amazon itself.

We’ve reached out to Nintendo for comment on this matter, but it’s unlikely we’ll get any sort of explanation. Nintendo and Amazon always play quiet when they’re in a tiff, and then eventually the two work things out. Let’s hope they come to a resolution soon and eShop cards return to Amazon proper in the very near future.
