Bandai Namco previously announced that GameCenter CX: Arino no Chousenjou 1 + 2 Replay (Retro Game Challenge 1 +2 Replay) was in the works for Switch. Today brings us a new trailer for the game, and it reveals a Feb. 22nd, 2024 release date for Japan. There’s no word on a localization at this time.

There will be both digital and physical options of Retro Game Challenge 1 +2 Replay available, with the standard digital/physical version priced at 5,900 yen. Those who cough up 9500 yen can get the DVD bundle edition, which includes a “Bandai Namco Special” DVD featuring the unaired “Arino’s Challenge” segment Kinnikuman: Kinnikusei Oui Soudatsusen, first DVD recordings of the Arino’s Challenge segments Oishinbo Kyuukyoku no Menu Sanbonshoubu and Pac-Land, and a bonus game adaptation project of famous scenes.

Retro Game Challenge 1 + 2 Replay will include remasters of the DS titles GameCenter CX: Arino no Chousenjou (released as Retro Game Challenge in the west) and sequel GameCenter CX: Arino no Chousenjou 2. This release has come to fruition to celebrate GameCenter CX TV’s 20th anniversary.

Those looking for something new can expect one new retro-style game in Retro Game Challenge 1 + 2 Replay, a side-scroller with a focus on action. More details on this brand-new game will be shared at a later date.

I really loved the first game. Hopefully this gets localized! I remember being disappointed when the 2nd one never came here.
