NARUTO X BORUTO Ultimate Ninja STORM CONNECTIONS voice actors aren't too happy with the game's final cut

NARUTO X BORUTO Ultimate Ninja STORM CONNECTIONS recently launched on Switch and just about every other platform, giving Naruto fans a whole-new experience to enjoy. Unfortunately, at least on the voice acting side of things, it seems there’s a lot left to be desired.

Fans have taken to X to share videos of NARUTO X BORUTO Ultimate Ninja STORM CONNECTIONS in action, specifically highlighting the voice acting. For whatever reason, it seems there’s some incredibly strange line reads for various characters, with emphasis and approach being completely out of whack with what’s going on in-game. Turns out even the voice actors themselves are surprised with the cuts.

As you can see in the exchange above, Maile Flanagan, the voice of Naruto, is completely baffled by one of the line reads you hear in NARUTO X BORUTO Ultimate Ninja STORM CONNECTIONS. It seems this is the case with multiple line reads for various actors in the game, including another Naruto voice actor, Michael Schwalbe.

With these comments from the voice actors themselves, it appears there’s been some kind of major miscommunication between the various departments handling voice work on NARUTO X BORUTO Ultimate Ninja STORM CONNECTIONS. We know these actors are more than capable of providing stellar line work, so it seems organizational issues behind-the-scenes have led to some rather wonky lines. Hopefully this can be fixed up in a patch down the road.
