The live-action Knuckles spin-off series is scheduled to premiere on Paramount+ on April 26, 2024. This series will bridge the gap between the Sonic The Hedgehog 2 and Sonic The Hedgehog 3 films, and Idris Elba is out to spread the word on this project before it launches. This has resulted in all kinds of interesting tidbits about Elba’s ties to Knuckles, and now we know it’s an appreciation that runs in the family.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Elba said that his 10-year-old son happens to be a big fan of the red echidna.

“He loves seeing Knuckles. He loves Knuckles as a character, and I think he loves recognizing his dad’s voice and stuff.”

Each episode of Knuckles will be roughly one hour, giving fans of the echidna plenty to dive into. It’ll no doubt be interesting to see how this series leaves things as we lead into Sonic the Hedgehog 3, which is set to arrive Dec. 20th, 2024.
