PixelHeart has announced GladMort, a title developed from start to finish by Chipsonsteroids (developers of Neotris). This action-platformer is inspired by the gameplay of Ghost’n Goblins (Ghouls ‘n Ghosts) and Magician Lord, with art direction and humor similar to Metal Slug. And like its predecessors, its difficulty will keep you on your toes! You don’t want to die too quickly, do you? Well, it’s up to you…

While PixelHeart isn’t officially confirmed for Switch release at this point, PixelHeart has said they hope to be able to offer GladMort on the platform eventually. It all depends on how the game’s Kickstarter goes, as the publisher says that with Kickstarter success and a real community created around the project, anything is possible. Please know that if you do pledge to support this game on Kickstarter, there’s no way to secure a Switch version at this time.

GladMort stars a tough black knight battling demonic forces… Does he want to save humanity or just have fun? Make your way through the 5 levels, kicking the butt of enemies specific to their environment. Use your double jump to dodge enemies and traps, or to reach certain platforms. As in Ghost’n Goblins, you can only be hit twice before losing a life. The first time, you lose your armor, but you can continue to fight the forces of evil in UNDIES! (Yes, just like in Ghost’n Goblins). Get hit again, however, and you’ll lose your life miserably. Losing a life takes you back to the beginning of the level, or to the … checkpoint if you’ve reached it. Beware of “Game Over”…

If you’d like to get a closer look at GladMort or you’re interested in funding the Kickstarter, you can check out the campaign here.
