This is a week that Nintendo fans will remember for years to come, as it’s the first time Nintendo confirmed not only that they’re working on a Switch successor, but they also said we can expect to hear some concrete details this fiscal year. While we’re waiting to learn when the first round of info will drop, Nintendo has shared some insight into what to expect in terms of coverage.

During an investor Q&A following Nintendo’s fiscal year results, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa offered up some insight into what fans can expect as far as the cadence of Switch successor info drops. Here’s exactly what Furukawa had to say, as translated by Stealth40k.

“As with previous announcements of new hardware, we will continue to release information in phases leading up to launch.”

I guess we can consider phase 1 to be officially underway. Now we just have to sit back and wait for the next round of details to surface. While it’s exciting to know info is on the way, it’s going to be really hard holding out!
