Nintendo on the importance of keeping gamers entertained long-term on their hardware

Nintendo recently shared their fiscal results for their 2023-2024 fiscal year, and that was followed by a Q&A session with investors. As usual, a variety of questions were asked, and we have a breakdown of one back-and-forth.

One investor in particular asked Nintendo about the significance of “annual playing users” to Nintendo, as it’s a figure that continues to climb with each passing year. Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa detailed why this number is important to Nintendo, and also stressed how the company wants to keep people playing on Nintendo hardware for years after they’ve been purchased.
