While the economy may be bad the world over, the game industry is doing quite well. Overall, in the UK, game sales were up 17% rise over 2007, which brought totals to 82.8 million. We know that there was success across all platforms, but Reuters makes special mention of the Wii within their blurb about the game industry. I am sure the Wii played a big part, as did the DS, and all other consoles available. It was a good year for gaming, even if the tail-end of 2008 was a bit sad, due to the closure of a few development houses. Let’s hope to see all those facing issues bounce back in a big way.
