MLB The Show 22 REVIEW: Finally a Good, Licensed Baseball Game on Switch
Weeeeelllll...It’s MLB The Show!!
It’s been 10 years since the release of MLB 2K12 for the Wii and Nintendo DS, which essentially marked the beginning of a dearth of MLB licensed games on Nintendo systems. Sure, there were the resurrected RBI Baseball games from 2017-2021, but these were widely panned by critics as poor to middling efforts. Arcade-style baseball games have also been available, but they don’t have the MLB teams or rosters that fans of the sport want to play as. After many long years, licensed, simulation-style baseball steps up to the plate for Nintendo fans once again with MLB The Show 22 on Switch.
Ocean’s Heart Review: An Entertaining Zelda-Like if You Miss 2D Zelda

Let’s get this out of the way at the beginning. Ocean’s Heart is unabashedly inspired by top-down Zelda games. The first scene involves Tilia, the main character, waking up in bed. There are hearts that represent your health and a green magic meter. These are just a few examples, and there are many more comparisons to be made throughout the game. That being said, Nintendo hasn’t made a new top-down Zelda since 2013’s A Link Between Worlds for 3DS, giving Ocean’s Heart the opportunity to fill that void.
Shorter Games Need Lovin' Too

Why is shorter game length considered negative in some circles? Let’s set aside the quality and value of video games related to their length, as those are separate arguments that I’m not going to address in this piece. There are bad games that are long and expensive, good games that are short and cheap, and all manner of games in between. I want to talk specifically about game length and how that can influence a player’s perception.

Many people are drawn to professional wrestling by the outlandish scenarios and sheer spectacle of it all. Pro wrestling expects the viewer to suspend their disbelief and just go with the flow. An inferno match where the winner is the one who successfully lights the opponent on fire? Sure, that seems plausible. With Action Arcade Wrestling (AAW), the two-developer team at Reverb has attempted to channel that energy while putting their own spin on the wrestling video game genre.
