We’re still a long way off from learning who’ll be cast in the live-action Legend of Zelda movie, but that won’t stop the Internet from talking about it. First up is rapper Machine Gun Kelly, who shared a snippet about the movie’s announcement in an Instagram story. His caption on the story read, “if I don’t play Link we have a problem.”

Machine Gun Kelly has in fact played Link before, albeit unofficially. In Halloween 2022 he dressed as the legendary swordsman himself, alongside Megan Fox as Zelda. You can see that costume in the image up above.

So if Machine Gun Kelly gets his wish, who will play Zelda opposite him? It’s anyone’s guess, but fans online have been throwing Euphoria actress Hunter Schafer’s name into the mix. Schafer responded to the fan buzz with enthusiasm, saying “That would be so cool. I love the game, personally. I played it as a kid and I still play it now. Who knows! That would be pretty cool.”

Will either of these two casting choices come to pass? As of now, it’s all just a bit of fun, but stranger things have happened. Stay tuned to see who else decides to throw their hat in the ring as development on the Zelda movie continues.
