The redesigns of the main cast were met with much criticism from long time fans, particularly the overuse of sports tape and Knuckles' massive upper body.

Sticks the Badger (Nika Futterman) was a new friend and member of Sonic's Team. She was a crazy character who used her natural survival skills and boomerang in combat and day to day life. She was also prone to fall for conspiracy theories.

Eggman's redesign was met with a bit more favor with many liking the military style for him.

Orbot (Kirk Thorton) and Cubot (Wally WIngert) we're the latest in Eggman's bumbling robot sidekicks. However, these two first appeared in Sonic Colors in the main line series and were adopted into the TV show, they didn't even appear in the Sonic Boom games. They are also the only original series characters to experience no design changes whatsoever.

Shadow (Kirk Thorton) appears in the series on special ocassions. Unlike the Shadow of the main series who has his tragic backstory to ground him this Shadow is allowed to be a full on edge lord for better and for worse.
