Are Pokemon Global Link login issues the reason behind Global Mission failures?

Pokémon Sun and Moon’s Global Missions have been met with failure so far. It seems that Sun/Moon players just can't complete the goals set forth by Pokemon Co.. Well, that's what we originally thought, at least.

It seems that multiple people are having trouble with account logins for Pokemon Global Link. If you can't log in, then you can't be tracked and you can't participate in the Global Missions. This issue has been going on for quite awhile now, and it seems there's no surefire fix to get around it.

Is this why Global Missions are ending in failure? Let's hope Pokemon Co. works out the issue soon and we start to see what players can really do.
