Nintendo didn't expect the reaction the NES Classic Edition got. There are still plenty of people today who never got a unit, and it seems Nintendo has learned at least one lesson from that. The company isn't going to underestimate consumer reception to the SNES Classic Edition.

Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime said that the company "dramatically increased" production for SNES Classic Edition. While no specific numbers were given, Reggie made it very clear that the stock increase was enacted to keep consumers from having to go the scalper route.

"I would strongly urge you not to over-bid on an SNES Classic on any of the auction sites . . . You shouldn't [have to] pay more than $79.99."
