- you can craft furniture
- you can talk to townsfolk and complete requests to get rewards
- place crafting orders with the necessary components to get the items you want
- you share a friendship level with each character, based on what you do and your chats
- the better your relationship, the more they'll come to visit
- you can use Leaf Tickets to get items you need if you don't have them
- you get Leaf Tickets by using real-life money, or you get them through regular gameplay for free
- island, beach, forest, and river locations can be visited through your camper, and you can see them on the in-game map
- fishing is included, and you can use a net to catch more fish
- game takes place in real-time, and the scenery and visiting animals will change
- visit the market place to get furniture items that are too fancy to craft, visit the abel sisters for clothes, and Kicks for clothing
- shops at the market place will rotate depending on when you visit
- you can decorate your camper with furniture, and fully customize the outside as well
- sell bugs, beached items, and minerals can get you bells
- real-life friends can visit the game with a code
- exchange bells, fish, fruit, bugs and more with other campers, and visit their campsites
- you can become friends and 'give kudos' to other players, and if you're friends, you can visit their campsite at any time
- choose skin color, hair color, eye color, and sex
- you can build amenities for your campsite, like a pool and more
- amenities can take hours, if not days, to complete
- there are certain things you can put a rush on to complete them, by using leaf tickets
- seasonal events, special items, and more will be included in various updates
