Isn't this just the AC adapter they had with the NES and SNES classics?

Can I use this to charge the Switch itself and powering up the dock without worrying of it frying the system's charging port?

The cables are what's the important part when it comes to USB C. This should charge it just fine but its going to be a very slow charge.

It is a USB-A power brick, so it is not powerful enough to be used with the dock. Most likely it can't even charge the Switch fast enough to be able to play and charge at the same time (well it will charge, the battery will still go down though, but slower).

This is used for accessories only. It is not for the switch.

Why would people want it when you can charge the cons using the switch?

For the Pro Controller. It has to be charged through a cable
