Satoru Shibata stepping down from role as Nintendo Europe President, taking position in Japan as Senior Executive Officer

While Tatsumi Kimishima is stepping down as President of Nintendo, Nintendo Europe is going to have to find a new president as well. Nintendo has announced that Nintendo Europe President Satoru Shibata is going to step down from the role and head back to Japan for an even bigger position. He'll be given the role of Senior Executive Officer in the company. It'll be sad to see him leave Europe, but he's on to an even better position!

Dude his english was fine. Where are you from if I may ask ?

This kind of comments need to stop especially when they come from people from english speaking countries. I don't know if you're one of them, but these guys are the worst foreign language learners by far and still can't stop complaining about this or that foreign accent, or even sometimes about legit english regional accents. If there is one thing that's appalling there, that would certainly be this attitude.

Man, he seemed to love his job.. this is kind of a bummer. I only watched a few Euro directs but he seemed like a really fun guy. Hopefully he doesn't fade away behind office doors.. though, honestly, it seems like Nintendo has been kicking down some of those. No one hides!!

Sometimes it's hard to decipher exactly what these pretentious sounding job titles mean. What responsibilities does Senior Executive Officer entail?

The Grand High Boss of Things

I'm glad he's gone, as I hated watching him in the European Nintendo Directs. His English pronunciation was appalling.

He seemed really cool. I hope he has at least a little bit of a public facing role in his new position.

He was already Executive Officer in the board of administration. He is now promoted to Senior Executive Officer in the same board. That’s all the official document says.
It doesn’t even mention that he would quit his position at Nintendo of Europe. So it may just be a misinterpretation!

Oh, that's a good point. Maybe we should wait for a statement from the man himself?

Whether he leaves Europe or not doesn't matter. The point is that he got promoted and that's good for him and his family and us Nintendo fans as well.

He was a friendly face for NOE. I'm glad he got promoted but am sad he is stepping down.
